Our Values

Welcoming

We foster a welcoming environment through respect, warmth, and structure and approach job seekers, employers, and workers with kindness, empathy, and compassion.

Inclusion

We acknowledge the interconnectedness of experience, history and environment and create programs that support adult learners to develop their capacity to meet their goals in work and life. We strive to ensure that all voices are heard and respected with the aim of incorporating diverse knowledge, perspectives, culture and experiences into the learning environment.

Learner-centred

We seek to understand the unique experiences, strengths and challenges that adult learners bring with them, and tailor our programming according to each person’s situation and needs, recognizing learners’ agency.

Lifelong Learning

We base our programs and ways of working on the understanding that for both individuals and organizations learning is a lifelong process. We adapt our programs and practices through ongoing reflection and growth to meet the evolving needs of learners and communities.

Collaboration

We seek out and nurture partnerships with employers, and non-governmental and government agencies, recognizing that collaboration can lead to new and creative approaches to training and skills development that meet the needs of job seekers, employers, and workers and workplaces.

Accountability

Our accountability to learners, community partners and funders is rooted in the use of best practices in adult education, consistent program delivery, transparent reporting, reflection and adaptation, in ways that best reflect the values and mission of Workplace Learning PEI.

Mission Statement

Workplace Learning PEI provides customized programs and services that meet the evolving, lifelong needs of job seekers, employers, and workers while building inclusive learning cultures in PEI workplaces.

At Workplace Learning PEI, we acknowledge that the work we do, the learning we support, and the lives we build together take place on Epekwitk, part of Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. The Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq have lived on and cared for this Island for more than 12,000 years. We honour the Peace and Friendship Treaties made with the Mi’kmaq. These Treaties remain living agreements and remind us that we are all Treaty People, with responsibilities to the relationships we share. As an organization committed to learning and growth, we recognize that reconciliation requires listening respectfully, building meaningful relationships, challenging what we think we know, and carrying that learning into how we work and live together on Epekwitk.
