Customized Workplace Training

Our Approach

At Workplace Learning PEI, our approach is collaborative, asset-based, capacity-building, and responsive to the needs of workplaces and learners.

Building Effective Partnerships

We build effective partnerships through trust, follow-through, open two-way communication, and a shared commitment to success. We believe that when our partners succeed, our communities benefit.

Taking an Asset-Based Approach

We begin by recognizing the strengths, knowledge, skills, experience, and resources that people and workplaces already have. We build on these assets while identifying opportunities for further learning and growth.

Increasing Capacity

Our goal is to help workplaces and learners continue building on their learning beyond our direct involvement. We support workplaces in developing the knowledge, tools, and processes needed to sustain their progress. We help individual learners understand how they learn best and develop strategies to navigate their learning journeys with greater confidence and independence.

Creating Customized, Flexible Solutions

Learning and training are not one-size-fits-all. We begin with a needs assessment to understand existing strengths, goals, challenges, and workplace conditions. We then develop flexible recommendations that respond to the needs of both employers and employees.

At Workplace Learning PEI, we acknowledge that the work we do, the learning we support, and the lives we build together take place on Epekwitk, part of Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. The Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq have lived on and cared for this Island for more than 12,000 years. We honour the Peace and Friendship Treaties made with the Mi’kmaq. These Treaties remain living agreements and remind us that we are all Treaty People, with responsibilities to the relationships we share. As an organization committed to learning and growth, we recognize that reconciliation requires listening respectfully, building meaningful relationships, challenging what we think we know, and carrying that learning into how we work and live together on Epekwitk.
