Services for Employees / Learners

Apprenticeship Learning Support Program (ALSP)

ALSP – The Apprenticeship Learning Support Program (ALSP) provides Island apprentices with free access to a range of virtual and in-person services that support their academic success during block training. Through ALSP, apprentices receive individualized recommendations, strategies to improve their study skills, and exam preparation support. We can also support apprentices who have—or may have—learning disabilities or ADHD. Services include access to screening and formal assessments to diagnose learning disabilities and ADHD, as well as assistance in arranging accommodations in classroom and exam settings. Apprentices register for ALSP by contacting their Apprenticeship Officer.

At Workplace Learning PEI, we acknowledge that the work we do, the learning we support, and the lives we build together take place on Epekwitk, part of Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. The Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq have lived on and cared for this Island for more than 12,000 years. We honour the Peace and Friendship Treaties made with the Mi’kmaq. These Treaties remain living agreements and remind us that we are all Treaty People, with responsibilities to the relationships we share. As an organization committed to learning and growth, we recognize that reconciliation requires listening respectfully, building meaningful relationships, challenging what we think we know, and carrying that learning into how we work and live together on Epekwitk.
